Why materials matter

ONE Essentials was created with a mission to  reduce the impact of the fashion industry by  making the most comfortable essentials without harming the planet. So we’ve made some smart material choices to really make an impact.

Where we are today

100% of our range is made using organic fibres.

100% of our range is made from blends containing 50% or more natural fibres.

100% of our fabrics are dyed with non-toxic dyes.

20% of the range is made from 100% natural fibres.

80% of the range is made using innovative synthetic fibres.

86% of our range is made from recycled fibres.

At ONE Essentials, we've chosen to work only with materials and suppliers that have a transparent supply chain and use various certifications as standard. Certification means that every material has been verified by a trusted third party to be exactly what they say they are.

Global Recycled Standard

This provides the consumer assurance that the material has been processed in a sustainable manner and is made from proven recycled content.

Organic Textile Standard

Factories, mills, growers and other manufacturers working with cotton can apply for this certification which covers an extensive range of environmental and social standards.

Bluesign Product

Bluesign is committed to creating a textile industry that is sustainable and ethical, ensuring no hazardous chemicals are used in production.

OEKO TEX Standard 100

When a material holds this standard, every element has been tested for harmful substances.

SA8000 Certificate

Social Accountability 8000 is an audit certification developed by Social Accountability International (SAI), an international non-government organization which aims to advance human rights at work.
